$5000 per month!

is it even possible? Let's figure it out together!

Helloooooo!

Ooohhh… so where do we start?

The weather or the war?

Disclaimer:
I’ve been trying to write this newsletter for over two hours, but it’s been hard to focus. With talks of an upcoming war, the news feels too heavy, and the uncertainty too real. I’ll do my best to keep the usual vibe of this newsletter alive, but I’d be lying if I said my heart isn’t heavy, with worry, hope, and prayers for everyone.

At the start of the year, I took this $5000 per month challenge, but couldn’t/didn’t actively work towards it.

Now that it feels like a now-or-never situation, I’ve decided to work actively towards it.

We haven’t simply named this newsletter To10X, we aim for it!

Now, for someone to earn $5000 in a month who’s hardly making $500, here’s what one must do (well, at least what I am doing):

Diversify income streams.

Right now, I have 2 clients, both agencies, but the work is less, and I have additional bandwidth.

Plus, I’ve been enjoying writing newsletters.

And I also want to offer LinkedIn personal branding as a service, too.

I even explored whether this newsletter can get sponsors!
(I know you guys trust me, so I won’t promote something just for the sake of it.)

The challenge started on May 7th, because we’re impulsive like that.

Today is Day 3, and here’s what we are planning!

1. Get more SaaS clients

I hadn’t actively done outreach since November, I think. I started it 2 days back, and it gave me a headache.

When you have to prospect, shortlist, customize, track, and then get disappointed... it gets taxing.

This is in progress. Will update how it goes.

2. Pitch to people for writing newsletters

I haven’t done this before. I don’t know how it works. I don’t even know how much to charge.
But we are educating ourselves, connecting with people who’ve been writing newsletters, and figuring out what might work best for me.

This one’s in the figuring-it-out stage. Haven’t pitched anyone yet.

3. LI personal branding

I’ve done it for myself (been doing it for a year), and the numbers are decent. But I’ve always wondered what it takes to write like someone else.

But first things first. We need to show results.
As a case study, I’ve taken over a friend’s LI account and am ghostwriting for him.

The idea is to post on alternate days and see what traction we get.
Haven’t pitched this service actively, but building the case study.

4. Sponsors!

Now we’ve got some progress here. I don’t wanna spoil it or jinx it, but I pitched 2 founders to see if they’d like to sponsor this newsletter, and they didn’t say no!

I’m sending a proposal to one today and will follow up with the second.

5. Guest Posts!

I have bylines from years ago, but they’re not SaaS-specific.
So to build more authority, I’m pitching guest posts to websites with a good presence and trust, so I don’t have to add this disclaimer anymore!

So there you have it!

Build authority.
Build proof.
Pitch.

And work your ass off to make it work!

What else have I been up to?

  • Reach 10k LinkedIn followers by the end of May. I’m posting 1-2 times every day. Hopefully, it turns into something soon.

  • Finished 1 book in 4 days (a new record I guess) and already onto the next one. Glad to be back to enjoying reading again!

  • Our community is now 80 people strong, with folks doing their own LinkedIn and Twitter challenges. The vibe is just chef’s kiss

(Reply to this mail if you wanna join!)

  • I’m doing daily updates about this $5000 challenge on X. Follow along if interested!

I’ll give detailed updates on what’s working, what worked, or what might work in this challenge once a month (probably the last Friday of every month).

The quotes, the proposals, the progress, everything!

Are you as excited as I am?

Wish me luck!

also…

I wish peace and harmony!

Love,
Nikita
