A Little Win, A Long Way to Go

Clarity, numbers, and progress on the $5k challenge

Helllooooooooo!

How have you been?

I have been all over the place.

Wanting to top May, but also wanting to slow down.
Wanting to talk to everyone, but also wanting to disappear.
Wanting to do everything at once, but also want to just do nothing.

But, let me not bore you with something I’d write in my personal newsletter, lol.

Okay, so June’s here!
Here’s what I’m thinking.

(I shared these things in an earlier version, too, but now we have clarity and numbers!)

Blogs

Currently, I make ~$400 per month with blogs, writing ~10 blogs.
Which is wayyyy low, at $40 per blog.

These are for agencies, not necessarily in SaaS, so the pay is low.
I worked with a SaaS client directly last year, and they paid $150 per blog.

Now, it feels weird to me too, to talk in dollars instead of INR, but since the challenge is in USD it makes more sense—to picture where we are headed.

International standards are high, and us writers can get paid better if we target the right people.
There is no point in working at less than 30% of what clients would pay you.

Now, this year I haven’t had any luck working directly with any clients, and the agency work is consistent and pays my bills.

Newsletters and LinkedIn Personal Branding

I signed a newsletter client at $700 per month and we start Monday.
It is going to take the majority of my work time, which I am okay with.

I think I can charge as high as $500 per month (international) and $200 (local) for LinkedIn personal branding services, but I need to show some results now,

cause apparently results on my page are not enough.

I think these 3 services offer me enough variety to keep me sane while also adding something towards the challenge.

I also need to keep my sanity as a one-person business.
Which means I can only take so many projects, plus I need to manage my personal projects too, including this newsletter, Fully Content, and my LinkedIn presence.

Passive Income

This means I’d need some passive income as well, and find a way to monetize these personal projects.

I had spoken with 2 founders for sponsoring this newsletter, but they fell out.
Again, I’d not promote anything I don’t think you guys will benefit from.
This has always been a place of trust, and that’s what it will always be.

For the passive income part, I’m thinking maybe an e-book?
But it just feels wrong to charge for knowledge that I’ve been sharing for free for almost a year now.

I know it shouldn’t—but it does.
Well, we’ll see about it.

I can also do sponsored LinkedIn posts, which again, I’m not sure about the numbers, so I’ll skip it till I figure things out.

There you have it!
My thoughts, notes, secrets laid out in their flesh!

God! This still is $2000, not even halfway there!

Anyway, tomorrow marks 1 month of starting this challenge, and I think we have at least something to follow the roadmap to.

PS: This is ideally how many clients I can take comfortably, not the current clients I have.

Not super bad, I guess!

I’ll not bore you every week with updates, but I will be sharing daily progress on LinkedIn!

Follow along, or just cheer me :)

I don’t have any goals goals for June, just excited to work with the new client as it fulfills 2 of my Q2 goals.

Yes!! That’s right :)

It’s so easy to get lost in what will be, that I totally forgot to celebrate this achievement!!

Thank you for being here and listening to me yap (almost) every week.
I share useful stuff too sometimes.

I wish you love, light, health, wealth, peace, and better sleep.

I’ll see you next Friday!

Love,
Nikita
