Helllooooooo,

Long time? No? You saw me last Friday? Well, I am sort of all over right now, so it feels like forever since I spoke to you guys but we are back now!!

A very close friend of mine says, “you can manifest anything”!! Start a manifesting newsletter and become a coach.

So it got me thinking, what would I actually say in that?

- Think what you wanna work about?
- Keep thinking about it
- Maybe write it somewhere
- Add it to your vision board
- Think about it once in a while

And then you wait…

WRONG!!

You won’t get into your dream company without applying for it, or networking with the right person, or by just thinking one day I’ll work for ‘my dream company’.

“Manifestation” has worked for me quite a few times in the last few years, especially after I started believing in it, working towards it, and not getting disappointed when it didn’t work and continued working on it!

Let’s see how I manifested markers, clients and $$$

Karin Markers

This is non-work related, but back in 2019, when I was doing calligraphy, there were a set of markers I desperately wanted. I used to think about them always, obsessed. I even dreamt of using the markers!

But they were wayyy out of my budget, and it was just a dream.

But I kept applying to challenges and giveaways, taking my chances. I ended up winning the challenge and a giveaway the next month.

Manifestation: Obsessed with it, always in my thoughts

Action: Applying to giveaways, looking for opportunities, participating and actually working in the challenge!

Clients:

Last year I added 5 companies I wanted to write for. Added them to a vision board and made it my desktop wallpaper.

I worked with 2 of them last year.

Manifestation: Added to vision board, looked at it everyday

Action: Applied to opening at an agency who wrote for Clickup. Pitched LI personal branding to a prospect, who in turn wanted Hubspot Blogs written for her!

I also wrote in my newsletter last year that my Q2 goal was to close an international client for writing newsletters.

I closed one in June.

Manifestation: Spoke about it once

Action: Spoke about newsletters constantly on LinkedIn.. So much that the N in Nikita stood for Newsletters. Started and ran 3 newsletters. Got a referral, prepared, stood out, started working!

Retainer Work

Similarly, this year I told (everyone on LinkedIn) I wanted to work less and think more. Hence I’ll be looking firward to doing more strategic work.

Manifestation: spoke it into existence.

Action

- Worked with them for over a year
- Delivered quality work throughout
- Never missed a deadline
- Communicated on time
- Informed 2 weeks in advance of my unavailability
- Suggested ideas beyond the original scope
- Maintained good rapport with the Founder
- Wrote a LI post how I wanted more strategic work
- Pitched additional strategic work to the client
- Did back and forth for 2 whole months
- Converted the client.

These are the ones I remember. As I write this on Thursday at 11.30 pm (been working last minute a lot, these days)

But there are also sooo many things that didn’t happen, like:

  • Moving out in Q1

  • Closing a LI personal branding client

  • $5000 per month

  • Going to Japan

So do we get disappointed? Never!!

We take these goals and shift them a little (Q1 becomes Q2), remember them, and then actively work towards them.

And they will happen sooner or later in their own sweet time!

I’ll do a part 2, if I remember more stuff that I manifested. ( I am sure there are more!)
