I shared 2 Fridays back that I have a vision for The Consistency Project.
The idea was easy. I have had this since June 2025. Installing Claude Code was easier. And I had the very first basic MVP in place in one night.
But in the last 2 weeks, I’ve been thinking less about building and more about getting the idea right.
I asked friends to test it and give feedback. What they liked, what felt useless, what could be better. I tested the idea, the psychology, the theory behind all this.
And I realised that before adding new features, I needed to get the philosophy right.
Because adding features is the easy part. That’s just a one-line prompt. Understanding the WHY and selling that feature is not something a prompt can do.
If I need users and want to become a genuine help to the community, I need to get the idea right first.
So here’s where we are at.
There are tasks that you need to do.
Send a proposal to the prospect. Create an Instagram campaign for the client. Reply to messages on Slack. Follow up for approval.
These happen and change every day, depending on your role and KPIs.
Then there are commitments for your business.
Keep the pipeline active. Show up online thrice a week. Update your portfolio at the end of the month. Attend offline events.
These are things you NEED to do to smoothly and stably run your business. They last longer than tasks usually, until a goal or a set timeline is met.
For example, right now my LinkedIn goal is posting 4 times a week until I reach 15k followers. But when I was creating IG content, the goal was to post a video every day for a month to test if I liked it or not.
And this is where the problem starts.
Tasks take over commitments because their deadline is shorter. They need to be done right now.
And because commitments have a slightly longer timeframe and no visible immediate results, they take a backseat.
The client work gets done. The proposal gets sent. The Slack messages get answered.
But the portfolio doesn't get updated. The content doesn't get posted. The course doesn't get completed. The idea stays an idea.
And this is the part I want The Consistency Project to help with.
Because we need to show up to test that idea, to build that tool, to learn a new skill, to complete that course, to push ourselves out of our comfort zone.
Not because we don't know what to do. We do.
We just need to keep showing up long enough to see where it takes us. And I feel we do it better with a community.
Not competitive, yet challenging. Not to fill you with guilt, but to give you a push.
Think of it like going to the gym. (It’s been 10 days I’ve been going and this is how I relate to it. I hope you do too.)
I showed up and saw people lifting heavier than me, walking longer on the treadmill and having better posture than me.
I felt like an imposter there. Like I don’t belong. But that is going to be the case.
I don’t know how long others have been coming. For some it’s months, others years.
I did feel bad and felt like quitting, but my gym buddy pushed me for a couple of days and now I go (sometimes) without him.
Even though I felt like an imposter, I know showing up would make me better and would help my future self.
That’s the whole concept.
Find a gym buddy/buddies and show up for yourself.
I have given myself a deadline. To make the first public version of the (web)app ready by this weekend and make it live to 50 users.
I already have ~15 people who replied earlier when this was at the idea stage.
Reply to this email and I’ll add you to the first 50 users.
TLDR;
An online place (like a gym) where you show up to fulfill your commitments to your business, not just client work, and find buddies (gym bros) to show up and stay consistent.
Reply “TCP” if you want early membership to the “gym”.
