Last night, I tried ChatGPT Voice for the first time.

I went for a walk (gotta get the steps in), put my headphones on, and ended up talking for almost 30 minutes. I wasn't expecting much, but it was surprisingly good.

I wanted to think back on The Consistency Project, something I had been thinking about since June 2025 and finally worked on in May 2026 (but failed).

The difference this time? I had data.

I had feedback from the 20 people who joined the project and eventually dropped off. I knew the reasons they stopped showing up.

Which brought us to a simple question.

What does consistency even mean?

For me, it might mean posting on LinkedIn every day. For someone else, it could be publishing one newsletter every week. For another freelancer, posting once a month is enough.

They're all consistent. There isn't a cookie-cutter cadence that works for everyone.

Which made me realize that maybe consistency isn't the problem we're trying to solve.

The real question is...

Are you consistently investing in your business?

Freelancers already know what they're supposed to do.

Post content. Reach out to potential clients. Network. Update their portfolio. Stay in touch with old clients.

The problem is that client work always wins.

When you have deadlines, the thing that pays today takes priority over the thing that might pay three months from now.

So you skip growing your own business to build someone else's.

But till when?

That felt like a much more interesting problem than "helping people stay consistent."

So we kept talking. (ChatGPT has become a surprisingly good listener.)

By the end of the walk, we had a simple one-line pitch.

A platform that helps freelancers consistently invest (time, energy, effort, you decide) in their future business, even when client work gets busy.

It's (currently in my head) a place where you make recurring commitments to your business.

Publish one LinkedIn post every Tuesday. Reach out to three people every Friday. Update your portfolio by the end of the month.

When it's time, you either complete it, skip it with a reason, pause it, or reschedule it.

Everything is private by default. You can share your progress if you want to.

And instead of rewarding people for perfect streaks, the community celebrates people who came back after disappearing for three weeks because life happened.

Pick your cadence. We'll help you stick to it.

I, myself, am looking for a new client while staying consistent on LinkedIn and this newsletter. We are getting back into the groove, and this feels like a good time to restart The Consistency Project.

This time with a better direction and a lot more intention.

P.S. Feedback, ideas, questions, challenges, struggles, or even just an "All the best" are always appreciated.
